This type of treatment can produce visible improvement in as little as 3 days and help protect against localized dry spots for up to 30 days when used preventatively.
Research from the University of Arkansas and other turf programs shows that wetting agents help bridge the gap between water and hydrophobic soil, improving infiltration and more uniform moisture throughout the root zone.
University turf resources specifically note that Type I fairy ring can make soil and thatch hydrophobic, causing turf to dry out and decline, and that wetting agents can improve water penetration in those areas. NC State also notes that re-wetting the hydrophobic layer with strategies like surfactants and targeted irrigation is a key part of managing this problem.

The honest answer is: Yes, we already include a lighter liquid moisture manager in every liquid lawn treatment round because we believe strongly in the value of soil moisture management. Our 2025 program materials already describe the built-in liquid version as improving pre-emergent distribution, fertilizer uptake, and the soil’s ability to absorb and retain moisture.
