The Ornamental Essentials Program

Round 1

Early-Season Pest & Disease Prevention

We begin the year with a preventative application of an organic biopesticide, made from highly refined horticultural oil. This treatment is designed to reduce pest pressure early and protect ornamental plants before problems have a chance to develop.

What We Are Applying

This application focuses on early-season prevention using a highly refined, organic-based treatment.

Primary application:

  • A horticultural oil derived from refined plant-based sources that works by coating and suffocating overwintering insect life stages, such as eggs and larvae

  • This same application also helps prevent common ornamental diseases by blocking fungal spores from attaching to plant surfaces

This treatment is non-toxic, residue-free, and safe for beneficial insects, making it one of the most effective and environmentally responsible ways to begin the season

What to Expect

This is not a flashy, instant-result treatment, and that’s intentional.

After Round 1, you may notice:

  • Little to no visible change immediately after application

  • A cleaner, healthier starting point as the season progresses

  • Reduced early-season pest activity

  • Fewer disease issues are developing as temperatures rise

This round works behind the scenes, preventing problems instead of reacting to them later.

Post-treatment instructions

To ensure the best results from your treatment:

  • Please allow at least 1 hour before watering to give the application time to fully settle

  • Keep pets and people off treated areas until surfaces are dry (typically 1–3 hours)

  • There is no need to rinse plants; this application is designed to remain on the plant surfaces

We will leave a clearly visible service sign with the date and time of application, so you and your maintenance crew can easily follow the recommended re-entry window. This helps protect anyone working in the landscape and ensures the treatment is not disrupted before it has time to fully take effect.
