The Natural State Lawn Program

Round 1

This first round of your 10-round lawn fertilization and weed control program is one of the most important applications of the entire year.

Today’s treatment includes a premium pre-emergent weed control using indaziflam, designed to prevent weeds before they ever have a chance to sprout.

What this treatment does

Pre-emergents work differently than most weed control products. Instead of killing visible weeds, this application creates a protective barrier in the soil that stops weed seeds from germinating. In simple terms, it prevents weeds rather than reacting to them later.

This particular application targets the summer weed season and is your lawn’s first line of defense against crabgrass, goosegrass, spurge, and many other warm-season annual weeds.

Why this matters

Once weeds germinate and establish roots, they compete with your grass for sunlight, water, and nutrients. Preventing them early allows your turf to direct all of its energy toward thick, healthy growth rather than survival.

Strong, dense turf is naturally more resistant to weeds, disease, and heat stress.

Why we use indaziflam

Indaziflam is one of the most advanced pre-emergent herbicides available in professional turf management. It lasts significantly longer than traditional pre-emergents and remains effective throughout the peak summer germination window.

Because it works so well up front, it dramatically reduces the need for additional herbicide applications later in the season. That means fewer chemicals overall, fewer spot treatments, and better long-term results for your lawn.

This is a perfect example of our philosophy: using the best product at the right time to reduce total chemical use across the season.

Aftercare and safety

• Keep pets and people off the lawn until the application has dried, typically about one hour
• You can resume normal activity after that re-entry period
• Watering is encouraged within the next few days if rainfall does not occur, as moisture helps activate the pre-emergent barrier
• Avoid aggressive soil disturbance like core aeration or heavy raking immediately after treatment

Following these simple steps helps ensure maximum effectiveness and longevity of the product.

As always, if you have any questions about your lawn or this treatment, our office is here and happy to help.
