The Natural State Lawn Program

Round 2

Seasonal Tips and Tricks

Extended-Release Nitrogen & Targeted Weed Control

This treatment is designed to provide your lawn with steady, long-lasting nutrition during one of the most important growth periods of the year.

We apply an advanced slow-release granular fertilizer that feeds your lawn gradually over the next 22 weeks, promoting consistent color, density, and root development without the surge-and-crash growth common with traditional fertilizers.

Why this fertilizer is different

Many lawn programs rely on inexpensive, fast-release nitrogen sources that dump most of their nutrients into the lawn within a few days. That approach often leads to uneven growth, excessive top growth (i.e., clippings), and excess fertilizer that can’t be absorbed, negatively impacting the environment through volatilization and runoff.

Our fertilizer works differently.
Instead of releasing nutrients based on rainfall or irrigation, it releases nitrogen through natural microbial activity in the soil. This allows your lawn to absorb nutrients gradually and only as needed, resulting in healthier, more controlled growth and better long-term results.

What to expect after treatment

  • The fertilizer is a blue-green granular, so you may notice small turquoise beads, especially in thinner areas of turf

  • Our technicians carefully blow off all hard surfaces, as granular products should never remain on driveways, sidewalks, patios, or pool decking

  • You may NOT see rapid green-up and growth, as with traditional fertilizer, since this product is designed to provide a slow, steady supply of nitrogen.

  • Blue-green patches indicate areas sprayed with post-emergent herbicide.

  • An indicator dye is used to ensure precise coverage and will fade naturally with sunlight and rainfall

  • A lawn sign with the date and time of application will be placed after service.

Post-treatment instructions

✅ Wait at least 1 hour before watering or mowing
✅ You or your lawn service can confirm timing by checking the lawn sign
✅ At this time of year, additional watering is not required unless conditions are unusually dry

Looking ahead

Upcoming rounds will build on this foundation with dual-coated controlled-release fertilizers designed to complement this long-term nitrogen supply. These products provide slightly faster, yet controlled, nutrient release while also improving soil health.

Unlike conventional fertilizers that contain large amounts of filler, these premium formulations are packed with beneficial components such as organic humates, calcium, sulfur, potassium, and multiple nitrogen sources. The result is even growth, improved nutrient retention, and zero burn risk.

Each round works together as part of a complete system designed to deliver thicker turf, fewer weeds, and better results with fewer chemicals over time.

Better Results. Less Chemicals.
