The Natural State Ornamental Program

Round 1

Early-Season Pest & Disease Prevention

We begin the year with a preventative application of an organic biopesticide, made from highly refined horticultural oil. This treatment is designed to reduce pest pressure early and protect ornamental plants before problems have a chance to develop.

How this treatment works

This application targets pests at every life stage by safely suffocating eggs, larvae, nymphs, and adults. By addressing insects early in the season, we significantly reduce the likelihood of infestations later in the year.

It also helps prevent common ornamental diseases such as rust, mildew, and Botrytis by creating a protective coating on plant surfaces that blocks disease spores from attaching and spreading.

Why we start here

Timing is critical. This treatment is applied while most ornamentals are dormant or lightly leafed out, allowing for thorough coverage and maximum effectiveness without stressing plants. Early prevention sets the foundation for healthier growth throughout the season.

Safety and environmental benefits

• Non-toxic
• Leaves no harmful residue
• Safe for beneficial insects
• Environmentally responsible

This product aligns with our organic-first approach and is one of the safest ways to reduce pest and disease pressure in ornamental landscapes.

What to expect

• The product is a clear liquid, so there are no immediate visual changes
• Most plants will still be dormant or defoliated at the time of application
• A lawn sign with the date and time of service will be placed after treatment

Post-treatment instructions

✅ Wait at least 1 hour before watering
✅ Maintenance crews can verify timing using the lawn sign
✅ This is an excellent time to prune woody ornamentals such as crape myrtles

Looking ahead

The next ornamental treatment focuses on premium liquid organic fertilization, designed to nourish plants, strengthen root systems, and support healthy growth as the season begins. Targeted disease control is applied as needed to keep your landscape performing at its best.
