Upcoming Irrigation Optimization
Our Irrigation Optimization service is a thorough system check-up and performance tune-up designed to ensure your lawn and plants receive the right amount of water efficiently and effectively.
The 3 Steps of Irrigation Optimization
Step 1: System Check & Assessment
Verify Controller Settings
We make sure your irrigation timer is set to the correct time and date.
Review Existing Programming
We look at how your system is currently set to run and compare that to the needs of your property today.
Run & Inspect Each Zone
Every sprinkler zone is turned on one at a time. For each zone, we:
Document the type, location, and condition of sprinkler heads and nozzles
Take photos of any issues (like breaks or leaks)
Evaluate the coverage and overall performance
Step 2: Program & Optimize
Tailor Settings by Zone
Each zone is programmed based on its specific needs:
Sun exposure
Slope
Plant type
Head/nozzle type
Watering coverage
Set an Efficient Watering Schedule
Primary and Secondary schedules are utilized to ensure the ideal amount of water is applied.
For example, hydrangeas and potted plants dry out much faster than more drought-tolerant plants and need supplemental watering to remain in optimal health.
Cycle and Soak:
All zones are programmed with the "cycle and soak" method to ensure the soil has time to absorb the water and minimize runoff.
For example, a zone that needs 30 min of total water will be broken into 3 separate runs of 10 min each.
Seasonal Adjustment:
Once your system has been optimized, future adjustments can be made quickly and easily with the seasonal adjustment feature on your controller.
Step 3: Educate & Estimate
We’ll review the new schedule and explain how everything works.
Seasonal Adjustment % Feature
We show you how to easily adjust watering levels as the weather changes, using your system’s Seasonal Adjustment or Water Budget feature.
You will receive periodic texts and/or emails suggesting our recommended seasonal adjustment %. No more guesswork or complicated adjustments.
Estimate for Suggested Repairs
If we find any issues or opportunities to improve your system, we’ll provide an estimate for repairs or upgrades.
