Mosquito Station Maintenance
How the System Works
The Mosquito Station turns mosquitoes into part of the solution.
A female mosquito enters the station and picks up two active ingredients
The active adulticide allows the mosquito to live just long enough (6-12 days) to contaminate nearby breeding sites.
Before dying from the adulticide, the female mosquito carries the active larvicide on her body to nearby breeding sites, expanding the area of control and killing multiple generations of mosquitoes.
This method of control creates a chain reaction that eliminates both adult mosquitoes and their larvae, even in places we cannot physically treat.
What to Expect
Noticeable control typically begins within 7–10 days
Continuous protection works 24/7, even when we’re not on-site
Monthly service keeps stations active and effective
Long-term reduction in mosquito populations over time
This is not a temporary knockdown. It is a system designed for ongoing control and suppression.
What’s Inside the Mosquito Stations?
Each station uses a combination of two highly targeted active ingredients designed specifically for mosquito control:
Pyriproxyfen, an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR)
Insect growth regulators work by disrupting the mosquito life cycle.
Prevents larvae from developing into biting adults
Stops future generations before they ever emerge
Targets insects specifically, not mammals
This is not a harsh, broad-spectrum insecticide. It’s a precision tool that mimics natural insect hormones and is widely used in drinking water reservoirs and public health mosquito programs due to its extremely low toxicity to humans and animals.
Beauveria bassiana a biological control agent
This is a naturally occurring soil fungus used in agriculture and pest control.
Attaches to adult mosquitoes when they enter the station
Gradually shortens their lifespan
Helps spread control to other breeding sites
It’s a biological solution that targets insects only and does not impact people, pets, or wildlife.
Safety: What You Should Know
We take safety seriously, especially for families with kids and pets.
For People & Pets
Both ingredients are considered low toxicity to humans and mammals
They are used in very small, contained amounts inside the station
No broadcast spraying or airborne exposure
If a Station Is Disturbed
If knocked over, don’t worry, nothing toxic was spilled :)
Call, text, or email the office, and we will send a technician by to refill the station.
If Touched
Brief skin contact is not considered harmful
Simply wash your hands as a precaution
If a Pet Drinks From It
Small, incidental ingestion is unlikely to cause harm
At worst, mild stomach upset may occur
We can relocate stations if a pet shows repeated interest
Stop Pest Damage Before It Starts
