The Natural State Lawn Program
Round 8
Preventing Fall & Winter Weeds
WATER! WATER! WATER! Proper irrigation is critical at this time of year.
For some lawns, especially those without ideal irrigation, the effects of summer heat and drought may expose your grass to elevated pest and disease pressure.
While the primary purpose of this treatment is to prevent Fall and Winter weeds, an important aspect of this visit is pest and disease monitoring.
Round 8 is a critical prevention window and one that plays a major role in how your lawn finishes this season and starts the next.
What Are We Applying?
Round 8 mirrors the strategy of Round 1, but instead of preventing summer weeds, this application is designed to stop fall and winter weeds before they ever emerge.
We are utilizing the most advanced pre-emergent herbicides available, paired with a liquid Moisture Manager for optimal performance. This application creates a protective barrier in the soil that prevents weeds from germinating.
This prevents common weeds like:
Poa Annua (annual bluegrass)
Henbit
Chickweed
Other cool-season winter annuals
These weeds are especially problematic in thin or drought-stressed lawns, as they take advantage of weakened turf and open spaces.
Spot-Spray Weed Control (Included)
As always, any existing weeds present during this visit will be addressed using our targeted spot-spray method. While these applications are not organic, this approach dramatically reduces overall chemical usage compared to traditional blanket applications.
What to Expect After Round 8
Like Round 1, this is a preventative treatment. You won’t see immediate visual changes.
But over time, you’ll notice:
Fewer winter weeds
Fewer weed takeovers in thin or stressed areas
A cleaner, more uniform lawn heading into dormancy
Pre & Post-Treatment Instructions
To get the most out of this treatment:
Make sure gates are unlocked
Remove any obstacles if possible
Keep pets inside during application
Avoid mowing immediately before or after treatment.
After treatment:
Allow at least 1 hour before re-entry.
We will leave a clearly visible service sign with the date and time of application, so you and your maintenance crew can easily follow the recommended re-entry window. This helps protect anyone working in the landscape and ensures the treatment is not disrupted before it has time to fully take effect.
Normal watering or irrigation.
