The Natural State Lawn Program

Round 9

Preventing Fall & Winter Weeds

By the time we reach Round 9, the growing season is winding down. Temperatures are cooling, growth is slowing, and your lawn is preparing to enter dormancy.

But this is not the time to check out. In fact, this is one of the most important opportunities of the entire year to set your lawn up for long-term success.

Round 9 is all about winter preparation, soil health, and protecting what you’ve built all season.

What Are We Applying?

Round 9 is our final liquid organic application of the year. Instead of pushing growth this late in the season, we shift focus back below the surface.

Round 9 delivers a powerful combination of:

  • Kelp

  • Fish-based nutrients

  • Humic substances

  • Carbon-rich organic inputs

These ingredients work together to:

  • Stimulate microbial activity in the soil

  • Improve nutrient availability and retention

  • Enhance root health heading into dormancy

  • Maximize the uptake of any remaining nutrients in the soil

This is about making sure your lawn goes into winter as healthy and prepared as possible.

Spot-Spray Weed Control (Included)

As always, any existing weeds present during this visit will be addressed using our targeted spot-spray method. While these applications are not organic, this approach dramatically reduces overall chemical usage compared to traditional blanket applications.

A Critical Window for Disease Monitoring

Weather conditions at this time of year mean it is peak season for many turf diseases. Cooler temperatures and moisture create ideal conditions for issues like:

  • Large Patch

  • Brown Patch

  • Other fungal diseases

Having a well-trained lawn care professional on your property during this time is invaluable. We’re not just applying a treatment; we’re closely monitoring your lawn.

If disease is present, technicians are trained to:

  • Identify it early

  • Treat it immediately (pre-approval policy)

  • Prevent it from lingering through dormancy

Because untreated disease doesn’t just disappear… It often overwinters and comes back worse in the spring.

Pre & Post-Treatment Instructions

To get the most out of this treatment:

After treatment:

  • Allow at least 1 hour before re-entry.

    • We will leave a clearly visible service sign with the date and time of application, so you and your maintenance crew can easily follow the recommended re-entry window. This helps protect anyone working in the landscape and ensures the treatment is not disrupted before it has time to fully take effect.

  • Normal watering or irrigation.
