Upcoming Bed Weed Control

Our Bed Weed Control Programs are designed to keep your ornamental spaces clean, defined, and under control all season long. Whether it’s mulch beds, river rock, or pathways, this program focuses on eliminating unwanted weeds and grasses while protecting the integrity of your landscape.

What This Program Is (And What It’s Not)

Let’s be clear and upfront…

  • IT IS NOT ORGANIC. This program utilizes a combination of non-selective herbicides, meaning anything we spray directly will be affected.

    • Thus, it requires a high level of precision and care around valuable ornamental plants. That’s why this program is performed by our specialized ornamental team, not general labor.

  • NO HAND PULLING WEEDS OR VINES. The non-selective herbicides used in this program can not distinguish between weeds and plants. If a weed is growing inside or intertwined in an ornamental plant, it will NOT be sprayed.

    • The one exception to this rule is Bermuda growing in ground cover (asiatic jasmine, juniper, etc.). We carry a specialized herbicide for this very purpose.

  • IT IS NOT PERFECT. If ZERO weeds is the expectation, please note that assistance from proper mulching practices and the occasional hand pulling of weeds WILL BE REQUIRED. Think of this program as support, not a stand-alone means of having a completely weed-free landscape.

The Proper Mulch Policy

The Bed Weed Control programs are priced and designed to work in tandem with proper mulching practices, not as a stand-alone solution for weeds in landscaped areas.

Maintaining a fresh 2–3-inch layer of mulch is critical for suppressing weed germination, allowing our technicians to complete treatments within the allotted time and product usage.

When mulch is missing or severely degraded, weed pressure increases significantly, requiring substantially more product and technician labor than what is accounted for in the program’s standard pricing.

If excessive labor and product are required due to improper mulching practices during two consecutive treatments, additional charges may be incurred to cover the extra time and materials needed to complete the service.

Pre & Post-Treatment Instructions

  • Allow at least 1 hour before re-entry.

    • We will leave a clearly visible service sign with the date and time of application, so you and your maintenance crew can easily follow the recommended re-entry window. This helps protect anyone working in the landscape and ensures the treatment is not disrupted before it has time to fully take effect.

  • There is no need to alter your regular irrigation practices for this treatment.
