If you’ve ever stepped in a fire ant mound, you know how quickly a great lawn experience can turn into a painful one.
That’s exactly why we take a proactive, whole-property approach to fire ant control instead of just reacting to individual mounds.
Here’s what to expect from your upcoming treatment and how it works to protect your lawn long-term.
Why We Treat the Entire Property (Not Just the Mounds)
Most fire ant treatments you’ll see are reactive. A mound pops up, it gets treated, and then… another one shows up a few weeks later somewhere else.
Our approach is different.
We apply a premium granular product across your entire lawn and landscaped areas to create a protective barrier that:
Targets existing colonies
Prevents new colonies from forming
Covers areas you don’t see yet
This is how we deliver consistent, long-term control, not temporary relief.
Ongoing Protection Between Visits
One thing that sets our approach apart is the level of year-round attention your lawn receives.
Our technicians carry a professional-grade mound treatment product on every truck. If they spot any active fire ant mounds during a regular lawn treatment visit, they’ll:
Treat the mound on the spot, use a targeted application for fast control
This is part of our commitment to proactive service and constant monitoring, not just scheduled applications.
What Happens After the Application
Fire ant control is not instant, but it is extremely effective when applied correctly.
Here’s the general timeline:
First 1–2 weeks
Ants begin taking the bait back to the colony
Weeks 3–6
Colonies begin to collapse and die off
After 6 weeks
You should see little to no activity across the property
From that point forward, the treatment continues working in the background, maintaining control for up to 12 months.
What If I Still See Fire Ants?
If any colonies are still active 3 weeks post-treatment:
Call, Text, or Email the office
Flag or mark the mound, making its location obvious
This is not 100% necessary, but it does help ensure no mounds are overlooked
What we do:
Treat the mound directly with a targeted product
Handle it ASAP at no additional cost
Pre & Post-Treatment Instructions
To get the most out of this treatment:
Make sure gates are unlocked
Remove any obstacles if possible
Keep pets inside during application
After treatment:
Allow at least 1 hour before re-entry.
We will leave a clearly visible service sign with the date and time of application, so you and your maintenance crew can easily follow the recommended re-entry window. This helps protect anyone working in the landscape and ensures the treatment is not disrupted before it has time to fully take effect.
Water in as soon as you can.
